Tyler Ellis A Customised Shopify Experience for a Red-Carpet Handbag Brand

A Los Angeles Handbag House Bringing Craft Online.

Tyler Ellis is a Los Angeles luxury handbag brand, designed by its founder and made by artisans in Italy. Its bags are carried on red carpets and much of the collection is made to order, with monogramming on selected styles. The online store had to carry the calm of a boutique while handling a catalogue that mixes ready-to-ship pieces with bespoke ones.

DBCO designed and built a customised Shopify theme for the brand, then extended it across every touchpoint: Shopify notification emails, Klaviyo templates and flows, and a library of social templates. The work ran as structured design sprints with Tyler Ellis herself, so every decision on typography, spacing and product presentation carried the founder's intent.

DBCO designed and built a bespoke Shopify store for Tyler Ellis on the Prestige theme, covering brand discovery, a style guide, custom sections with variable settings, custom fonts and styling across every template. The work then extended to the Shopify notification emails, a modular Klaviyo template library with automated flows, and a library of Instagram templates, so the storefront, inbox and social feed share one visual system.

The Tyler Ellis Shopify store was designed by DBCO (Design & Build Co.), the brand-led digital agency specialising in Shopify design for luxury fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands. Working in design sprints with Tyler Ellis herself, DBCO delivered a bespoke design on the Prestige Shopify theme with made-to-order, monogramming and hardware logic, then extended it to Shopify notification emails, Klaviyo templates and flows, and Instagram templates.

The catalogue mixes ready-to-ship pieces with styles made to order, and selected bags can be monogrammed. DBCO modelled this with Shopify metafields rather than apps, so made-to-order status, monogramming options and stock visibility are controlled from the Shopify admin and reflected on the product page and in the cart.

Each bag is offered in several hardware finishes, so the product page groups its images by hardware variant. When a customer selects a finish they see the exact bag they are choosing rather than a generic gallery, and product tiles were reworked so that variants do not multiply in the collection grid.

DBCO redesigned the full set of Shopify notification emails, from order confirmation and shipping updates through returns and gift cards, so every transactional message carries the brand. For marketing, DBCO built a modular Klaviyo template library and automated flows covering welcome, back in stock, browse abandonment and cart abandonment, with a custom stock notification on the product page feeding the back-in-stock flow.

Prestige, Shopify's premium theme, gave Tyler Ellis a proven, high-performing foundation, and DBCO built a bespoke design on top of it: brand discovery, a style guide and styling across every template, custom sections with variable settings, and targeted development for stock notification and hardware variants. The brand gained a bespoke store and the product logic it needed without the cost and maintenance of a ground-up build, and the store stays easy for the team to run.

Yes. The custom sections have variable settings, so the team builds new pages and campaigns with unique branded and editorial storytelling without code. Monogramming, made-to-order status and hardware variants are controlled through metafields in the Shopify admin, the notification emails and Klaviyo flows run after every order, and the social templates give ongoing marketing a consistent foundation.
